Welcome to Tŷ Cariad Africa

Supporting orphans, vulnerable children and communities in Uganda

Tŷ Cariad Africa is a registered charity in England and Wales (1124100). Our primary objectives are to alleviate poverty, sickness, and distress while providing access to education for orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda.

We do not directly own or manage children's homes or institutions, but we collaborate closely with overseas partner organisations to fulfil our mission. Our primary partner is Victory Child Care Project - Ty Cariad (VCCP) in Namugongo, near Kampala, Uganda. Additionally, we support similar organisations throughout Uganda.

Our partnerships are built on strong relationships, and our partners employ local professionals to assess and address the unique needs of each child in an appropriate manner, regardless of their background. Family-based care is prioritised whenever possible, and efforts are made to trace, reconnect, and reunify children with their families and extended communities when it is deemed beneficial for the child's well-being. These approaches have been recognised at the government level.
