Founder of Tŷ Cariad Africa receives British Empire Medal

We are so proud and happy that the Founder of Tŷ Cariad Africa yesterday received the British Empire Medal, which was presented by Sara Edwards on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen.

Harvey Jones, Director and Treasurer of Ty Cariad Africa commented regarding Paul’s award “It’s such a deserving acknowledgement of the tremendous work you have done both in missions in Uganda and in the Fire and Rescue Service.
Ever since my first involvement with Ty Cariad Africa Paul’s passion, drive and enthusiasm to help people in need of support has been both evident and contagious. Having set up a children’s home for orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda, Paul then went about setting up a UK charity, Ty Cariad Africa, to support and finance the Children’s Home which is run by Victory Child Care Project.
Paul has, and does work tirelessly ensuring that as many lives are changed as possible, both here in the UK, and in Africa. In fact, I think that everyone that meets Paul comes away a little better than before.
The work that Paul has started and been a part of ever since has changed so many lives, and in some cases, lives have been saved. The work in Uganda has developed, and Ty Cariad Africa now supports Victory Child Care Project in providing help and support for orphans and vulnerable children in many areas, and as well as supporting children at the home, it is also active in preventative abandonment and family and community strengthening. The love, compassion and drive with which Paul started this project 14 years ago, continues to grow and develop both in Uganda and other parts of the world.
Paul, on behalf of all of the children and families whose lives have been saved or changed as a direct result of you and your work in Uganda, I thank you!”
