St Kizito Junior School in Namugongo is local to Victory Child Care Project – Ty Cariad. It has just under 500 children on role. Victory Child Care Project – Ty Cariad has 35 children aged 4 to 14 who currently attend the school, and 2 children who attend St Kizito Secondary School.
Due to the large numbers of children attending this school from the project, and the fact that 3 of our 6 Trustees are teaching professionals, a strong link has been developed between Tŷ Cariad Africa and the school which spans 9 years. Since 2012 there has also been a British Council Partnership between St Kizito Junior School and Cymmer Infant School, Porth which has been co-ordinated by one of the Trustees who is a teacher at Cymmer Infant School.
During visits to Uganda, time is spent in the school teaching, monitoring, mentoring and encouraging. During the years, a very strong bond has formed between the Trustees of Tŷ Cariad Africa and the Directors, Headteacher and teaching staff of St Kizito School.
