On Tuesday the Children’s Home received some food support from church members of Victory Christian Church, Ndebba. This included; maize flour (75kgs), Rice (50kgs), a bunch of banana, and 2 boxes of washing soap.

Then on Saturday they received more food support which included; maize flour (50kgs) and sugar (25kg). This was an assurance to the team in Uganda that God will continue to provide for the children even in this hard situation we are in, if we only put our trust in Him.

The children are actively involved in home activities according to their age groups under the supervision of the house mothers and cooks. The main purpose is to help them become responsible citizens in future. Activities include; washing clothes, mopping their bedrooms, cooking (older children), sweeping the compound.

After doing the home activities in morning, the children start doing their holiday work and revision as a way of helping them to not forget what they have learnt since the term started.

In the afternoons they also have bible study where God’s word is shared. The purpose is to help the children know God more.

From 7pm tonight, there are further lockdown measures being introduced in Uganda which will further restrict the movement of people.

In these unprecedented times as we wait to see what impact the Corona Virus will have on Ty Cariad Africa and the children and communities we support, be assured that we are working very closely with the team in Uganda to monitor the situation and to see how this will affect us all.

Please would you consider doing the following:-

PRAY - those who can, please pray for the children and the team in Uganda for their health and their safety.

DONATE - we would ask you to step up your financial support for us as exchange rates drop and prices start to rise.

SHARE - at a time when we are encouraged to keep to ourselves, please share this post and the ones which will follow with as many people as you can - using social media, texts, tweets, phone calls etc.

Thank you for your continued support, and please, keep safe.
