A New Year with New Opportunities!
Volunteers have always been at the heart of Ty Cariad Africa and our ability to raise funds to support orphans, vulnerable children and communities in Uganda.
Historically, the majority of funds have been raised directly or indirectly by people who have visited the project in Uganda as part of a team visit. Unfortunately, due to the Covid pandemic, we have been unable to arrange any team visits, and this has impacted our fundraising.
As we continue to evolve in a post-pandemic world, we are now looking for volunteers to help us reach our goals, so that together, we can support orphans, vulnerable children and communities in Uganda.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill the following roles to sustain and grow the charity. A brief outline of the responsibilities is below.
Fundraising Co-ordinator
Recruiting and managing volunteers to fundraise.
Planning campaigns – online and offline – working with the Project Manager and Child Sponsorship Co-ordinator to ensure that targets are met.
Child Sponsorship Co-ordinator
Looking for new sponsors for resettled and fostered children.
Liaising with the Project Manager and/or VCCP Social Work Team to ensure all required paperwork is received on time.
Collation and editing of material for sponsors.
Sending all reports to sponsors and ensuring that all are received.
This could be split between 2 people.
Fundraisers
Individuals who can think creatively and organise fundraising events - working alongside the Fundraising Co-ordinator.
Fundraising idea packs will be available.
Treasurer
Responsible for the day to day recording of income and expenditure using Xero software.
Claiming Gift Aid from HMRC.
Preparation of accounts and forecasts for Trustees.
Preparation of annual accounts for submission to the accountants.
